The VW 385/15 is an extension pin that can be used:

in conjuction with VW 387, VW 388, VW 521/4, VW 521/8, and a dial gauge to measure crown gear backlash in transaxle,
in conjuction with VW 387, VW 388, VW 521/4, VW 521/8, and a dial gauge to measure crown gear backlash in rear differential.
